About Us
The Church at Schilling Farms is a contemporary Christian church located in Collierville, Tennessee, a suburb of Memphis.
The Church at Schilling Farms has two former names: Immanuel Baptist Church and Life Church at Schilling Farms. Immanuel Baptist Church’s vision for a ministry began in late fall of 1989. After much prayer and planning, the first worship service was held on Sunday, January 14, 1990, in the Taekwondo Karate Center. Sixty-nine persons joined and established the initial membership. After one more Sunday at the Karate Center, additional space was needed, and the congregation relocated to the Colonial Junior High School. This facility would prove sufficient for the rest of January, February, and March. The church continued to grow and develop her ministry, and on March 25, 1990, moved to the east end of the Southwind Village Center in Germantown. The purchase of 13.9 acres on the corner of Poplar Pike and Hacks Cross Road was the next major step. Construction was soon begun on a multi-purpose facility, which was completed during the summer of 1993.
The church went through a redefining period in 1998, and sold the Hacks Cross Road facility to Union University. The congregation began meeting at the Malco Cinema at Forest Hill. After purchasing
property in Schilling Farms, the church took on a new name, Life Church at Schilling Farms. In August of 2003 the congregation moved to the present location at 1035 Winchester Boulevard, Collierville, Tennessee.
The church voted to change the name to The Church at Schilling Farms in 2008. Scott Payne is the founding pastor of the church, and still pastors the congregation today.
