Our Beliefs
Our Mission…
Our desire is to know God, to become more like His Son Jesus Christ, and to do His will.
What We Believe...
We believe that a New Testament church is a voluntary association of baptized believers in Christ who have covenanted together to follow the teachings of the New Testament in doctrine, worship, and practice. We believe that only those who are committed to Jesus Christ as Lord are scriptural subjects for baptism and that immersion is the proper mode of baptism. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial to the Lord’s death. The bread symbolizes His body which was given for us. The fruit of the vine symbolizes His blood which was shed for us. If you are interested in joining The Church at Schilling Farms, please contact Pastor Scott or one of our Elders. You can also download a copy of our Membership Agreement.
Our Structure...
We believe that a church is under the headship of Jesus Christ led by the pastor and elders. The Pastor is to shepherd over the church, give instruction, speak the Word of God, and give account to God for his leadership. The Elders are to exercise spiritual leadership in the church under the direction of the Pastor. Members of the church are to glorify God through obedient service to Him through a faithful commitment to the body. For a more detailed look, you can download a copy of our Church Structure.
Our Cross...
Our Cross was designed by one of our members and crafted by a local artist. Everything from the materials used to the elements that make up the design are representative of our faith.
TRINITY - The three vertical center members of the Cross represent Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
SECURITY - The bands on the Cross represent the gathering of those who accept the work of the Cross, and the security that comes with a commitment to Christ.
SHEPHERD - The left vertical member of the Cross represents the shepherd's staff.
UNITY - The circle in the center of the Cross represents unity.
PURPOSE - The two materials used to construct the Cross are aluminum and copper. They represent the blending of the purpose of Christ in the Cross of Christ, and the cross a Christ-follower must bear.
